Rob Zombie’s Halloween remake arrived yesterday. It will be interesting to see what it’s like although it’s one of those films where the original is such a legend that it can’t really replicate it no matter how good it is.

Resident Evil: Extinction was finally released two days ago and arrived in the US yesterday. It won’t be arriving in the UK for another two and a half weeks though which is rather disappointing. The clock is ticking down though!

All Very Scary has published some fresh information on the upcoming next installment of Silent Hill which is currently scheduled to be released January 2008.

The game is featuring a huge make over - a new game engine, a new storyline where you take on a character named Alex and a more interactive environment. From the screenshots that have been released so far, it’s looking pretty good too.

I mentioned a while ago that the next Resident Evil film, Extinction now had a release date which is now later this month. Which it still is looking like it will be which is good news. IMDb now has a more extensive release dates list.

Apparently Russia are going to get it a day earlier on September 20th, with it arriving in the US on the 21st and most of Europe in early October. Unfortunately it doesn’t look like it will arrive in the UK until October 12th.

For fans of the cult horror film Ginger Snaps there were two sequels released after the film, Unleashed and The Beginning. Both are available with the original in a trilogy boxset. That said, the worthwhile is probably reserved for big fans of the series.

The Beginning goes back to the olden days in which Ginger and her sister arrive at a fort which has been cut off and is being attacked and people killed by something, obviously a werewolf. It’s not exactly the most gripping film ever though and is very standard compared with the original film, there is just nothing special about it.

It’s a nice try but unfortunately it just doesn’t work.

Darkplace has finally come to DVD and it’s been worth the wait. It comes with all the episodes with commentary from Garth, Dean and Todd which is quite entertaining as well as some extra footage - there is about an hour of extra interviews which are amusing to watch and a limited amount of other extras too including some browsable photo galleries (but let’s be honest, who cares) and a bit of footage that is either cut our or behind the scenes. Good DVD.
